Forklift Danceworks’ The Way of Water is a multi-year global arts-based project bringing together communities, civic organizations and advocacy groups to address climate-based water issues. In Austin, the next two years of the project will focus on the Onion Creek watershed, in collaboration with Austin Watershed Protection.

The Way of Water: Onion Creek kicks off by gathering neighborhood youth and Watershed Protection staff in Dove Springs–elevating the stories of the people who live and work in this neighborhood. Forklift will host innovative laboratory performances on Saturday, June 24th and Saturday, September 23rd in Onion Creek Metropolitan Park. Collaborating with neighborhood youth, Forklift will produce performance vignettes alongside Bay Area guest artist José Ome Mazatl, with music from DJ Orión, DJ Shani, Vanessa Burden and DJGL.

Limited tickets will be available to the public. Sign up for our email list to be notified of ticket releases first!

This project is generously funded by the Alice Kleberg Reynolds Foundation, the Austin Community Foundation, the Lowell H Lebermann Jr. Foundation, the Texas Commission on the Arts, and the Mid-America Arts Alliance.
